Get to know me better
Hi, I'm Tanya Singh, a student majoring in Computer Science (specializing in Data Science) and minoring in Business at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD '27) with a passion for coding, problem solving, and exploring new technologies. My journey in computer science began with a curiosity about how systems and software work, which developed into a strong interest. I specialize in Java, C, OCaml, and R development, along with experience in x86-64 Assembly, HTML/CSS, Rust, Python, and MATLAB.
Beyond coding, I enjoy painting and playing the flute, which I have played for more than eight years. I also value collaboration, teamwork, and communication, which are skills that I strengthened through my experiences as a cofounder and tutor, as well as a Code Sensei at Code Ninjas, where I guided students through programming concepts, and as a Math Tutor at Sylvan Learning Center, where I helped students master challenging mathematical topics.
When I am not coding or tutoring, I enjoy contributing to campus organizations such as the Google Developer Student Club and Campus Coders Crew, as well as conducting research through the First Year Innovation and Research Experience (FIRE) program. I am always eager to take on new challenges, learn about emerging technologies, and create meaningful solutions that make a positive impact.
